$33,334 - OUR GOAL THIS YEAR

Why such a strange number, you ask? Well, let's do the math.

Our partnership with EpLink and the Ontario Brain Institute (OBI) is helping maximize our fundraising efforts. Every dollar raised will be matched by an additional two dollars from the OBI, a research institute funded by the Ontario government. So if we reach our goal, we'll be investing $100,000 into EpLink and supporting much needed epilepsy research—essentially doubling what was raised in the first five years of Katie's Run.

In 2016 we raised $30,000 so this is a realistic goal. Please help by making a donation, pledging a participant, or signing up to walk or run!

Dads of Epilepsy

Each year we feature the story of one or more inspiring individuals who are living with epilepsy. In 2016, we shared the stories of several moms that we've connected with through Katie's Run. This year we are following up with stories from a dad's perspective.

A father's role is the protector of his family, so what is it like when he is at a loss as to how to protect his child from having seizures? Please take the time to read and share these heartfelt stories from dads of epilepsy, and help increase awareness of the need for events like Katie's Run.

Epilepsy Research

Our goal is to raise funds for epilepsy research. In 2017, all funds raised will be directed to EpLink, the Epilepsy Research Program of the Ontario Brain Institute. Every dollar we raise will be tripled tripled tripled!

Katie Woudstra was our original inspiration, and you can read her story here. There are so many others living with epilepsy and all its challenges, and our goal is to help uncover the brilliance that will end epilepsy—forever!
